Hello, darlin’! Your session date is coming up and I am so honored you have chosen me to photograph you. I know that it is so easy to overthink your photoshoot, so I wanted to give you some extra information to ease your mind and get you even more excited for your photo session! It is important to me that I fully communicate the whole process so that you can focus on the experience instead of all the little details.

Hair and Make-up Preparation

Imagine escaping the world for a few hours and sitting back in a make-up chair like a movie star, getting your hair + makeup done and sipping on champagne. Your favorite music is playing, and you feel more and more among girlfriends. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect way to chill those “pre-shoot jitters” that you might be experiencing on the day of your session? My makeup/hair artist and I will chat with you about what looks inspire you, and get you excited to jump in front of the camera.

To be properly prepared for your pre-shoot pampering make sure that you show up with a clean, moisturized face and clean hair that was washed either the night before or that morning. 

 

Finding the Studio

The studio is conveniently located in Downtown Hayward at 1035 B. Street, Hayward 94541 above the wonderful Vintage Alley.  There is an abundant parking lot across the street from the studio and 2-hour parking located on the street. Weekend sessions have nearly guaranteed parking on the street right below the studio.  If you need any help bringing in anything, don’t hesitate to ask! There are a lot of one ways that confuse a lot of people (took me forever to get used to as well!) so I hope that this helps you find the studio stress free.  Text me at 209-914-5026 when you have arrived and I will meet you at the door that says “Modern Love Photography” and help you up. 

Prep the night before and the morning of

There is something that no amount of photoshop can help, and that is the look of not enough sleep.  I highly suggest you treat yourself to a full 8 hours so you wake up refreshed. 

This is way more of a work out than one might think! The morning of it would really benefit you to get some stretches done to loosen up, making the poses a bit easier on you. Many of my ladies mention feeling sore the next day!  I created a yoga guide for a nice starting point on stretches to try the morning of.
